Turn Around Time

Generally, custom orders are produced within 15 days - from the day of the initial order to when they’re placed in the mail. Allow extra time for transit, especially if you live outside the U.S.

Shipping

Most items are shipped with USPS using flat rate shipping boxes. In the U.S. this can range from $5 to $15. Internationally, it can be anywhere from $15 to $40 depending on the size of the package.

I do not attempt to make any money off of shipping or handling costs. The prices I charge are fair and within a couple dollars of the actuall shipping charges..

Color

If the color in your printed peice needs to be precise, we can match Pantone colors. If have a little room for color variation, we can match the color in your design file by eye.

Designing for Letterpress

Letterpress printing excels at simplicity and well placed and chosesn typographic elements. Try to avoild large areas of printed ink. If your layout involves a large surface area of ink, the print will not turn out a solid color, but most likely a sandy, worn or washedout version of what you have in mind.

Keep the number of colors to a minimum. We are fans of one or two color items. We may turn down orders with three or four colors because we are a small shop and time is limited.

Tiny fonts and thin lines can be problematic. Try and keep lines to 0.4pt and thicker and type to no smaller than 6pt. If type is too small or lines too thin, they can be washed away in the plate making process.

Keep in mind, letterpress printing uses physical plates created uniquly for your design or layout. The plates print one solid color at a time. If your design involves a photo, or full color artwork, letterpress printing is problably not what you need

Designing Files

If you plan on submitting your own design to be printed, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, the files should be vector based and preferably, Adobe Illustrator files. Other vector based files like InDesign and EPS are also exceptable. Please make sure to have all text coverted to outlines (paths) to avoid font confilcts. This is important because it is likely I don’t have the fonts that you are using in your layout. No bleeds or printers marks are needed. The artboard can be the size of the final printed document.
