I’ve hesitated to do this for quite some time, but in an effort to show a more personal side of Hoban Press, I’ve decided to create a Facebook page for posting shop pictures, history behind our vintage letterpresses, as well as some the nitty gritty details of the printing process.
If you’re into that sort of thing, like us on Facebook to follow our updates.

Hoban Cards will start selling card holders as an option with an order of calling cards for $10. These holders are made out of thick chipboard and open up wide, which is perfect for handling letterpress printed business cards on cotton stock - it prevents the cards from getting dinged and scuffed. The cases also feature a handsome inkless impression of the Hoban Press logo on the front.
If you already have a set of cards, and just need a holder, buy one here! ∞

Sifter
I had a pleasant time working with Garrett from Sifter on these. Their handsome logo worked perfectly for these simple double sided letterpress printed cards on 220lb Crane Lettra. They also wrote a nice journal entry about them.
Be sure to check out the Sifter App - It’s a slick web based bug & issue tracking tool for small teams. ∞

They say, the carpenter’s house is never finished. Similarly, the letterpress printer never has any business cards. I’ve recently been embarrassed after explaining to friends an family how I make business cards for folks all over the world and I’m not able to provide them a card of my own!
To remedy this, I’ve designed and printed a simple, one color card. I think it turned out well and exemplifies the simplicity and elegance that I’m trying to promote with my letterpress printed business and calling cards. [Update] These are now available as a Hoban Card calling card template to purchase. ∞

I’m super excited to announce the launch of a brand new Hoban Cards website!
In addition to a complete redesign and introduction to the new logo, the new site offers a few new calling card templates - including, two new monogram cards with blind impressions, as well as a simple Twitter card.
Also, free samples can now be ordered easily through the Samples page.
Lastly, I’ve launched a new newsletter dedicated to news and promotions surrounding Hoban Cards. Each month I’ll be offering special deals for newsletter subscribers. If you’re interested, subscribe here.
Take a look around and let me know what you think!

Ryan Karpowicz
This is a handsome card I designed and printed for Ryan Karpowicz. He came to me wanting a simple card and loved the blind impression. I’ve printed many minimal cards, but I think this layout, as of now, remains my favorite. ∞

WeSprout
A few weeks ago I finished some cards for WeSprout. They provided this wonderful design. I particularly loved the use of the blind impression in their logo and the social icons to organize their contact information.
If you are a parent (or soon to be parent) of young children, make sure to checkout http://wesprout.org. It sounds like they are doing some really innovative and exciting things in that space. ∞

Substrata
I had a great time working with the talented Chris Ellison of substrata.ca. Chris submitted this delightfully minimal layout and I had a great time printing it. The Substrata text sinking into the lower margin of the card as a blind impression perfectly exemplifies the Substrata brand.
The cards were letterpress printed on 220lb Crane Lettra, Ecru. Photo credit goes to Chris himself! ∞

Recently, I’ve really been enjoying David Airey’s design blog. After seeing this post about his experience with ordering cards from Moo.com, I was compelled to contact him and offer a batch of my cards in the same layout - I knew he’d love them!
After receiving the cards, David wrote a nice post. Thanks David! ∞
